
Roger Gorringe and Patrick Gooch, the two artists who are G`s Studio,
live in Crowborough, on the
edge of the
Ashdown Forest.
Both have
formal creative backgrounds. Roger trained at Willesden
Technical School
of Art, and spent his early career working
in
commercial studios
before
setting up
on his
own.
He has an established reputation among
publishers for his wildlife illustrations,
and has designed over thirty
sets of postage stamps.
Roger is also a well-known lecturer, and
has co-written a
book on airbrush techniques.
Patrick has enjoyed a lengthy career in
advertising, While working for agencies
and international
companies, for many
years he
was also a
lecturer at the
Central School of Art and Design.
Both Roger and Patrick have children with their own families. As
a consequence, they are well-versed in dealing with
the
wiles
of
infants. They are also committed animal lovers - the catalyst that
first prompted their working together.
Their painting styles are also compatible. Roger prefers to work in
watercolours and oils, while Patrick favours pastels and
charcoal.
Thus, they offer the full range of painting and drawing methods
In addition to pet and family portraits, G`s Studio undertakes numerous
other commissions – for the artists are
equally
adept
at
portraying wildlife, landscapes, seascapes, buildings and rural scenes.
